Job Description
As a Business Analyst, you will serve as the primary liaison between program stakeholders and technical teams to ensure that public health systems meet operational, regulatory, and data integrity requirements. You will lead analysis and oversight efforts to enhance, integrate, and maintain critical applications, streamline automated processes, ensure compliance with established methodologies, and support secure, high quality reporting systems that are essential for public health operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering sessions with program stakeholders supporting public health initiatives.
- Develop and maintain business requirements documents, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct gap analysis and recommend system and process improvements.
- Analyze and document end to end workflows for tracking, reporting, and follow up processes.
- Coordinate with technical teams and vendors to resolve defects and implement enhancements.
- Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and efficiency improvements.
- Lead user acceptance testing activities including test planning, script development, and execution.
- Develop training materials and conduct user training sessions.
- Provide application oversight and guidance to other analysts supporting related systems.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in business analysis or systems analysis roles.
- Strong experience supporting public health data systems and reporting requirements.
- Extensive experience in requirements elicitation, documentation, and process mapping.
- Strong background in data analysis, problem solving, and workflow optimization.
- Proven experience leading test planning, execution, and user acceptance testing efforts.
- Experience working with work item management tools and supporting Agile delivery.
- Knowledge of data integration standards such as HL7 and API based integrations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working effectively with cross functional teams.
Compensation
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $45.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
