Business Analyst (Power Bi/Security/Azure) - Contractor

About the Role:

An engineering-focused professional consulting firm is seeking a Business Analyst to support a large, high-visibility initiative with a major energy enterprise organization. This role is highly data-driven, with a focus on building dashboards, analyzing data, and translating technical insights into actionable business outcomes. You will partner closely with engineering, security, and IT operations teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Build Power BI dashboards and reports to deliver business and operational insights
• Use SQL to extract, transform, and prepare data for analysis
• Gather and document requirements in dynamic or ambiguous environments
• Translate technical findings into clear, business-friendly insights and presentations
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and IT teams to support data-driven initiatives
• Support stakeholder meetings, workshops, and reporting needs

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of Business Analyst experience with a strong data/reporting focus
• Hands-on Power BI experience building dashboards and visualizations
• Strong SQL skills for data querying and preparation
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-facing experience
• Experience working cross-functionally with technical teams

Strong Plus:

• Azure Log Analytics and/or KQL
• Experience with security, infrastructure, or operational metrics
• Agile environment experience (Azure DevOps preferred)
