Business Analyst

We are seeking a driven, forward-thinking Business Analyst to support a large-scale technology initiative at a state transportation agency. This is a fully remote contract role. The ideal candidate is someone who doesn't just use AI tools — they rely on them, grow with them, and bring that mindset to everything they do.

What you'll be doing

• Leveraging AI tools like Microsoft Copilot to analyze recorded meetings, extract key themes, and translate them into clear user stories and business requirements
• Collaborating with stakeholders to identify, document, and refine business and functional requirements
• Facilitating requirements-gathering sessions and translating complex business needs into actionable user stories for development teams
• Continuously improving and expanding your AI-assisted workflow — this team values growth, not just familiarity
• Working independently in a remote environment while staying tightly aligned with project goals and stakeholder expectations

What we're looking for

• ~5 years of experience as a Business Analyst
• Hands-on experience using AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) in your day-to-day BA work — not just awareness, actual usage
• Strong ability to write user stories and define acceptance criteria from unstructured input (meetings, interviews, recorded sessions)
• Self-starter mentality — you identify what needs to be done and do it without waiting to be directed
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Government or public sector experience is a plus, but not required
