About the role
General Purpose:
The Business Analyst is responsible for driving sales forecasting and delivering data-driven insights that support business performance. This role develops and maintains accurate sales forecasts, analyzes performance trends, and translates data into actionable recommendations. Working cross-functionally with inside sales, supply chain, and product management, the Business Analyst leverages historical sales data, market intelligence, and emerging trends to inform decision-making and optimize results.
In this role, you have a strong foundation in data analysis and sales forecasting, along with excellent communication and organizational skills. You will collaborate closely with channel sales, product, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment, improve forecast accuracy, and support strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Forecast Integration:
- Develop & maintain base-level forecasts utilizing specific sales data & feedback from the channel managers around bulk orders, SMU product, promotions, events, and new product introductions
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to discuss changes made to the forecast that could affect factory purchases
- Work with the product management team to forecast new product introductions and discontinuations
- Sales Analysis and Reporting:
- Generate reports on sales histories and assist in projecting monthly ship potential vs sales budget
- Monthly review of model group sales performance & inventory vs sales budget, highlight gaps to plan, slow-selling SKU's, and report that information to channel managers & VP of Sales
- Monitor performance of promotional activities and gauge their success
- Continually communicate with channel managers to analyze new or potential sales that need to be integrated into the sales forecast
- Align backorders with incoming inventory and break down model group performance by sales channel
- Data Reporting and Tool Development:
- Develop new Power BI reporting based on internal & external sales needs
- Improve data reporting processes for sales analysis
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the supply-chain team, including the director, manager, and analyst
- Collaborate closely with channel managers for independent, national accounts, and specialty markets
- Ensure high levels of communication with team members across the sales and supply-chain departments
- Market Research and Analysis:
- Understand, clean, analyze, and summarize previous sales data by channel
- Build on historical sales data for future predictions
- Integrate general market trends with information provided by channel managers
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously improving forecasting techniques, methodologies, and data analysis tools
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in forecasting methodologies through continuing education and discussions with industry peers

- Proven experience in business analysis and sales forecasting
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Expertise in Excel
- Proficiency in JD Edwards or other ERP and Power BI
- Excellent communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and presentation skills
- Passion for the outdoors
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
- 3+ years’ experience
Other General Job Requirements:
- Regular and satisfactory attendance is required
- Ability to work flexible and/or long hours when necessary
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Periodic domestic travel may be required
