About the role

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Business Analyst/Technical Writer for a hybrid opportunity in Columbia, SC. The ideal candidate will support statewide information security and compliance initiatives by providing business analysis, technical documentation, reporting, and process improvement support for enterprise-level programs and assessments. This role will collaborate with technical teams, leadership, and stakeholders to ensure accurate documentation, operational tracking, and successful execution of program objectives.

Required Qualifications for the Business Analyst / Technical Writer:

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
  • Candidates must currently reside in South Carolina and be able to commute to the Columbia office as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree OR Associate’s degree with at least 2 years of Business Analysis experience.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, policies, procedures, and process flows.
  • Strong technical writing and editing skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to develop workflow diagrams and visual documentation using Microsoft Visio or PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience managing multiple assignments, deadlines, and reporting requirements simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to track project milestones, document progress, and support operational reporting activities.

Preferred Skills/Experience of the Business Analyst/Technical Writer:

  • Experience supporting information security, regulatory, or compliance-focused projects.
  • Experience creating technical SOPs, desk manuals, and procedural documentation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Visio skills for workflow and process diagram creation.
  • Strong schedule management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • 5+ years of professional technical writing experience.
  • Experience supporting enterprise or statewide technology initiatives.

Responsibilities of the Business Analyst / Technical Writer:

  • Develop, update, and maintain policies, procedures, SOPs, process flows, and operational documentation.
  • Track project activities, milestones, operational metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Review and edit documentation for quality, consistency, and accuracy across internal teams and vendors.
  • Prepare status reports, meeting notes, and program updates for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support risk, resource, and change management activities related to security assessment initiatives.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership, business teams, and project managers to support program goals and continuous improvement efforts.

Work Location:

Columbia, South Carolina (On-site as needed) – Candidates must currently reside in South Carolina.

Pay:

Up to $106,000.00 per year
