Business Applications Support Analyst

Job Overview

The Business Applications Support Analyst will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and translating business and operational requirements into functional specifications for non-Epic applications within Deaconess Health System. This role will involve troubleshooting and resolving issues related to non-Epic applications, driving process improvements, and working closely with cross-functional teams to implement new technology solutions. The Analyst will also be responsible for maintaining system documentation, server maintenance, and system optimization efforts.

This position also involves managing projects, collaborating with other analysts and IT teams, and ensuring that solutions meet both current and future business needs.

What You Will Do

• Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and system configuration for a wide variety of software applications used across the organization.
• Manage server maintenance activities, including patching and remediation of security vulnerabilities.
• Troubleshoot application and system issues, performing root-cause analysis and delivering timely resolutions.
• Create, maintain, and monitor batch jobs and associated scripts to ensure reliable system operations.
• Collaborate with internal teams and build strong working relationships with external vendors to support application performance and enhancements.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend process and system improvements to increase efficiency, reliability, and user satisfaction.
• Support application initiatives throughout the full project lifecycle—from planning and implementation to ongoing support and optimization.
• Develop and maintain system documentation for application configurations, workflows, and training materials.
• Monitor system performance by continuously assessing the performance of non-Epic applications and implement necessary changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participate in testing efforts for application updates, new implementations, and business process changes.

What You Will Need

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems, Healthcare, or a related field — Required

Experience

• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and project management within healthcare or IT systems — Required
• Experience with non-Epic applications or similar enterprise applications — Preferred
• Experience in functional analysis, process optimization, and system administration — Preferred
