Job Description

As part of the development of our activities in the banking and financial sector, we are looking for an experienced Business Data Analyst to work on IT and business transformation projects within major players in the sector.

You will join a dynamic team working directly with business units, IT, and project teams, in a demanding and stimulating international environment.

Main Missions

Reporting to the Project Manager or Product Owner, you will be involved in the entire project lifecycle:

• Gathering and analyzing business needs from operational teams (front, middle, back office).
• Writing detailed functional specifications and user stories.
• Process modeling (as-is / to-be), impact identification, and improvement proposals.
• Liaising between business and technical teams: supporting developers and clarifying needs.
• Participating in the design and validation of data models.
• Designing and facilitating dashboards and reports for business management.
• Participating in the testing strategy (test plan development, execution, anomaly tracking).
• Change management and user support during deployment phases.
• Reporting and tracking deliverable progress to project management.

Profile

• Higher education (Bac+5) from a business school, engineering school, or university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Data Analyst in the banking, insurance, or financial sector (investment banking, asset management, insurance, or retail banking).
• Good understanding of financial processes: payments, securities, risks, compliance, regulatory, or banking accounting.
• Proficiency in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and associated tools (Jira, Confluence…).
• Skills in requirements gathering, process modeling (BPMN, UML), and functional writing.
• Fluent professional English, both spoken and written.
• Interpersonal skills, rigor, analytical thinking, and customer service orientation.

Technical Skills Appreciated

• Proficiency in SQL and at least one data visualization tool (Power BI, Tableau, Looker…)
• Knowledge of on-premise data environments (Teradata, Oracle, SAS) or cloud (GCP, Azure, AWS)
• Experience with data modeling and governance tools (MEGA, Zeenea…)

Bonus Points

• Experience in international projects.
• Knowledge of banking IT solutions (Calypso, Murex, Avaloq, SimCorp, etc.).
• Good understanding of financial regulations (MiFID II, Basel III, etc.).
