Business Data Analyst

Key Responsibilities

• Engage business areas to capture and refine data requirements
• Define data product specifications incl. table schemas
• Design data models supporting analytics and efficient retrieval
• Support creation of reports, queries, dashboards in a new lakehouse environment
• Develop and execute test plans
• Write and optimise SQL for data validation and workload creation
• Document data models, processes, and workflow changes
• Track industry trends in data management

Required Background

• 7+ years as BA/Developer/Data Analyst
• Proven BA experience on data projects in financial services
• Strong understanding of Middle Office, Risk, Finance processes
• Advanced SQL and complex query optimisation
• Solid data modelling and schema design
• Familiarity with modern data platforms and architecture
• Degree in Computer Science/IT/Data or equivalent
• Proactive, independent, detail‑oriented, strong communicator

Nice to Have

• Experience with lakehouse tech (Iceberg, Cloudera CDS, Databricks, Snowflake)
• ETL tools (Spark, dbt)
• Java understanding
• Bash scripting
