The Business Development Financial Analyst, Senior serves as a bridge between BD operational execution and financial oversight. This position integrates core competencies from Business Operations, Project Accounting, and Enterprise FP&A to drive organizational efficiency and fiscal accuracy. The individual develops and implements financial concepts to support growth objectives while managing essential functions—including system reports, budgeting, purchase orders, accruals, reconciliations , and financial analysis—to ensure robust reporting across business development. This position requires US Citizenship and is remote telework.
Principal Accountabilities
- Financial Integrity & Oversight: Manage the regular upload and validation of spend data within the CRM to ensure accurate visibility into Business Development and Bid & Proposal (B&P) expenditures. Conduct weekly reviews of project charge codes to resolve discrepancies and ensure the timely, accurate closure of codes in alignment with corporate accounting standards.
- Advisory Analysis: Prepare comparative evaluations of actual costs against budgets and provide recommendations to management regarding cost-saving or improvement strategies. Conduct studies and analyze financial information to determine present and future performance; interface with leadership to resolve reporting and compliance issues.
- BD Reporting: Execute monthly BD reporting processes from CRM and provide ad hoc reports as required. Manage PBI reporting to ensure data availability and integrity. Work with developers to enhance and troubleshoot data collection and reporting process.
- Fiscal Reporting: Execute monthly accrual processes and provide continuous monitoring of BD/B&P budgets to maintain fiscal discipline. Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and invoices.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure strict adherence to internal procedures, FAR, and GAAP. Support internal and external audit requests and provide interpretation of financial policies or governmental legislation.
- Technical Administration: Serve as a functional administrator for CRM and Power BI (PBI), managing user access and ensuring data availability for stakeholders while supporting the transition toward automated reporting solutions.
- Operational Planning: Develop financial plans, including budgets and schedules, to meet specific business requirements.
Knowledge & Skills
- Financial Systems: Proficiency in finance and accounting relational databases; specific knowledge of Costpoint, Cognos, and Hyperion is highly preferred.
- Technical Agility: Strong ability to design financial tools through advanced formulas/databases;
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Analytical Excellence: Strong organizational skills to oversee multiple work assignments, solve complex problems, and deliver results independently.
- Business Development Knowledge: Understanding of BD lifecycle process and terminology.
- Communication: Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to present complex data to top management and BD leadership.
Experience & Education
- Typically 5+ years of experience as a Financial Analyst, Project Accountant, or Accountant with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related Discipline. Or 3+ years experience with a Masters.
- Understanding of BD lifecycle process and terminology highly preferred.
- Experience in Dynamics CRM and Power BI (PBI) highly preferred.
- US Citizenship is required.
Compensation Details:
110 - 125K
