About the role

About

The Business Insights Analyst plays a central role in delivering high-quality analytics, data science solutions, and actionable insights that enable informed decision-making across An Post.

The role supports both self-service and centrally delivered analytics, contributing to the organisation's Data & Analytics strategy, the Hub & Spoke Operating Model, and the continued development of enterprise analytics capability.

The analyst partners with stakeholders across business units, the D&A Solutions Team, and cross-functional teams to design, build, operationalise, and promote governed analytics solutions. Working through the full CRISP-DM lifecycle and aligned Agile/Kanban ways of working, the role focuses on insight delivery, analytics enablement, data consistency, and best-practice analytics processes.

  • Identify data sources, data owners/stewards, and maintain traceable audit trails.

Hub & Spoke Operating Model & Capability Enablement

  • Promote and embed the Hub & Spoke Operating Model across the enterprise.
  • Act as an enabler for analytics capability-empowering spokes and business teams rather than executing tasks end-to-end.
  • Contribute to analyst forums and communities of practice to elevate analytics maturity.
  • Promote standardisation of tools, frameworks, and best practices, including evaluation of new analytics technologies. MS Fabric will be in strong focus in the immediate and long-term.

Collaboration & Solution Operationalisation

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to automate, productionise, and operationalise analytics solutions.
  • Define refresh schedules, monitoring plans, automated checks/alerts, and handover documentation for long-term sustainability.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new analytics tools, models, or deliverables.

Work Management & Delivery

  • Work in Agile/Kanban across CRISP-DM phases, with evidence-based updates, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Track and manage analytics requests using ServiceNow, MS Tasks, JIRA, or equivalent tools.
  • Maintain decision logs and clear documentation of assumptions, methodologies, and results.
  • Provide clear communication of insights, limitations, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrate An Post Values and behaviours in your day-to-day work and address behaviour that supports/conflicts with them.
