As a Business Insights Analyst (m/f/x) in the Promotions Management department, you will be responsible for the data-based analysis, evaluation, and optimization of our sales promotions at PENNY.

Your focus will not only be on analyzing numbers, but especially on identifying, explaining, and preparing business contexts along the promotion business. Through sound analyses and clear recommendations for action, you will make a significant contribution to the economic management of promotions and to achieving key KPIs such as promotion sales, promotion margin, and profitability.

Your Profile - Strong like our Brands

• You have completed a degree in Business Administration, Business Informatics, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a comparable field.
• You have at least three years of relevant professional experience in a similar role, ideally in the retail environment, category management, marketing analytics, or business intelligence.
• You have strong analytical skills and extensive experience in handling large amounts of data as well as in analyzing and interpreting complex economic issues.
• You are proficient in using common BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau and have very good MS Excel skills; experience with Business Objects as well as databases and SQL is an advantage.
• You have a sound understanding of retail and business contexts, especially in the areas of pricing, margin, and promotion logic, ideally in the food retail sector.
• A structured and solution-oriented approach, strong communication skills, and enjoyment of cross-departmental collaboration characterize your personality.
• German and English language skills corresponding to the job complete your profile.

Your Tasks - Versatile like Retail

• You analyze the performance of all sales promotions using relevant retail and business metrics (e.g., sales development, sell-through rates, margin impact) and identify optimization and potential areas.
• You create meaningful dashboards, standard reports, and decision-making bases for management and specialist departments and derive concrete recommendations for action.
• The analysis of customer behavior in the promotional context (e.g., shopper reach, switching behavior, basket effects) is also part of your area of responsibility.
• In close cooperation with purchasing, category management, marketing, and promotion management, you act as an analytical sparring partner in defining and optimizing promotion and action strategies.
• You evaluate different promotion mechanics such as price reductions, multi-buy offers, or bundles regarding their effectiveness, profitability, and strategic goal achievement and support the selection of suitable items based on data-driven recommendations.
• Furthermore, you drive the further development of analysis processes, reporting standards, and BI tools and support automation and digitalization initiatives in promotion management.
