About the role
Description
The Alexa International BI (AIBI) team is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to help shape the future of Alexa. This is a unique opportunity to generate impactful insights that influence the Alexa experience across international markets.
In this role within the AIBI team, you will apply your technical and analytical expertise to build scalable data pipelines, design automated reporting frameworks, and deliver strategic insights that drive international product growth, customer engagement, and market expansion. You will play a key role in enabling data‑driven decisions for Alexa across global markets.
To achieve your goals, you will collaborate closely with a diverse set of stakeholders including senior leaders across engineering, product, international business, marketing, and economics/data science teams. You will also partner with Central BI and Data Engineering teams across multiple time zones to ensure data parity and consistency between US and international reporting.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Interface with internal business customers to gather data and metrics requirements
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics and reporting to deliver key business insights
- Homogenize metrics, reports and tools across business functions and automate where possible
- Create data visualizations to make data more interpretable for the business
- Develop and publish self‑service tools and bridging/deep dive reports
- Own and perform individual deep dive analyses on our customers, including communicating results and implications to business leaders
- Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation, always insisting on the highest standards.
About the Team
The Alexa International BI (AIBI) team is a high‑impact analytics team dedicated to unlocking Alexa's full potential across international markets. The team partners closely with product, engineering, marketing, and business leadership to deliver data‑driven insights that shape Alexa's growth strategy. With a strong emphasis on scalable data infrastructure, automated reporting, and strategic measurement, the AIBI team plays a critical role in enabling informed decision‑making for customer engagement and growth initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large‑scale, complex datasets
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
