Job Description

We are seeking a BI Engineer with excellent SQL skills, fluent with advanced data modeling and visualization features and who is familiar with or welcomes learning new tools. This role requires experience designing dashboards for optimal communication working with large volumes of data. Familiarity with web development (CSS, HTML, Javascript) is a plus.

The ideal candidate will be a natural collaborator and problem solver who possesses a high intellectual curiosity and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while playing many roles as situations demand.

Key Accountabilities

• Design and implement data sources (database queries, models/cubes/etc.) of business data based on various data sources (including SQL Server DB, Postrges DB, noSQL sources as well as file-based data)
• Collaborate with BI and Product team within Agile process to iteratively design and implement dashboards, reports, and extracts.
• Assess performance and address issues of the Data sources and Dashboards.
• Respond to application issues in a timely manner, work with the application and product team for resolution.
• Apply relevant principles and guidance to develop object and data security within data sources, dashboards, and the system in general.
• Work within Agile software lifecycle.
• Work with BI and Product teams to automate and standardize BI-related activities.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or math.
• 5+ years of solid expertise in writing SQL, Relational Database skills, optimizing queries and data structures.
• 4+ years of BI Development experience in dashboards, analytics, and reporting.
• Must have 2+ years of good knowledge on any major BI Tool (Tableau, Sisense, Power BI)
• Clear understanding of Data warehouse and BI data architecture principles, dimensions and facts, star schema, ER diagrams
• Understanding of data analysis principles and ability to apply these to validation of data sources/models.
• Willingness to learn and master BI development in Sisense software.
