About the role

On behalf of our client, a Swiss private bank of international reach and human scale, we are seeking a Business Risk Manager – Transaction Monitoring.

Reporting directly to the Head of Business Risk Management, you will join a dynamic team and play a central role within the bank’s enhanced first line of defence, ensuring robust transactional risk controls while acting as a key partner to the Front Office.

Your Responsibilities

Transaction Monitoring & Controls

  • Analyse and validate incoming and outgoing flows (cash and securities)
  • Review transactions, including for PEP and High-Risk clients, ensuring proper supporting documentation
  • Investigate and close alerts generated by transaction monitoring tools
  • Act as a back-up for Market Heads in validating client instructions

Client Activity Oversight & Risk Management

  • Monitor transactional activity and ensure alignment between KYT, KYC, and regulatory requirements
  • Produce control reports and ensure proper documentation and traceability
  • Manage client account blocking and unblocking processes
  • Provide guidance to Front Office on complex or sensitive cases

Stakeholder Interaction & Reporting

  • Act as a key liaison between Private Bankers, Risk, and Compliance teams
  • Support senior stakeholders (Head of BRM, Head of Private Banking) on risk-related matters
  • Contribute to KPIs, reporting, and continuous improvement of the control framework
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure the robustness of processes

Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, or equivalent
  • Around 5 years of experience in Switzerland, ideally combining audit and a similar role in private banking / wealth management
  • Strong expertise in transaction monitoring, AML, and Swiss regulatory requirements
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting tools
  • Fluent in French and English (additional languages are a plus)
