About

The Business/Quality Analyst will play a vital role in supporting major Taft-Hartley Multi-Employer Fund implementation and modernization projects. This position integrates business and systems analysis with quality assurance functions to guarantee that solutions for Pension, Health & Welfare, and 401(k) funds adhere to business objectives, regulatory standards, and established quality benchmarks.

Success in this role requires a strong background in Agile/Scrum methodologies, with proven experience working collaboratively with business stakeholders, development teams, and quality assurance professionals throughout the project delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Systems Analysis

  • Gather, analyze, document, and confirm business and system requirements for solutions related to IAM Benefit Fund operations.
  • Collaborate with Fund Administration, Operations, Compliance, Actuarial, Finance, and IT teams to gain a thorough understanding of business workflows and regulatory needs.
  • Write and manage user stories, epics, features, and acceptance criteria, along with comprehensive supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and update Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs) and detailed system requirement specifications.
  • Verify that requirements comply with plan documents, collective bargaining agreements, and regulatory standards (such as ERISA, DOL, IRS).
  • Track requirements traceability throughout the process from intake to development, testing, and launch.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on Agile activities such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, review sessions, and retrospectives.

Quality Assurance & Testing

  • Develop test strategies, plans, and cases based on business and system requirements.
  • Review requirements and user stories for clarity and testability.
  • Perform system, integration, and UAT testing.
  • Confirm solutions meet acceptance criteria and business needs.
  • Log, track, and triage defects; assist in root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Ensure quality standards across vendor and internal development.

Qualifications and Preferred Attributes

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, Finance, or a closely related field is required. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Relevant Experience: Candidates must have 5 years of proven experience serving as a Business Analyst, Quality Analyst, or a combined BA/QA role.
  • Requirements Management Skills: Candidates should have hands-on experience with requirements management, including drafting user stories and Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs).
  • Quality Assurance Support: Experience supporting QA activities, such as developing test cases and participating in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), is necessary.
  • Agile Methodologies: Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices is required.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Strong analytical abilities, documentation skills, and effective stakeholder communication are essential for success in this role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on large‑scale system implementations, conversions, or modernizations
  • Familiarity with benefit administration or retirement recordkeeping systems
  • Experience working with TPAs, system integrators, and third‑party vendors
  • Benefit Fund Implementation: Experience supporting Taft-Hartley or multi-employer benefit fund implementations is desirable.
  • Fund Operations Knowledge: A strong understanding of operations related to Pension, Health & Welfare, and/or 401(k) funds.
