Company and Job Description: A well-established educational institution is seeking an experienced and highly organised Accountant to oversee the full finance function at campus level and partner closely with school leadership.

This role is responsible for managing the school’s financial operations, supporting budgeting and cost control, and providing strategic financial guidance to the Principal and management team. The successful candidate will act as a key link between the school and central finance functions.

Key Responsibilities: Financial Management & Business Partnering

• Act as the finance business partner to the school

• Support the Principal with budgetary control and expense management

• Participate in campus and management meetings

• Analyse monthly management accounts and present insights

Budgeting & Reporting

• Lead the annual OPEX and CAPEX budgeting process

• Monitor and track income and expenses against budgets

• Prepare and submit CAPEX applications

• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and month-end close

• Process journals and complete monthly reconciliations

Operational Finance

• Oversee procurement and accounts payable processes

• Ensure accurate billing submissions to shared services

• Monitor school event budgets and financial performance

• Review payroll and highlight discrepancies

Debtors & Revenue Management

• Oversee collections, debt management, and parent accounts

• Ensure accuracy of discounts and bursaries

• Manage collections for events, camps, and tours

Governance & Compliance

• Train staff on financial policies and procedures

• Ensure adherence to financial controls and processes

• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation

Job Experience and Skills Required: Bookkeeping or Accounting Diploma (preferred) 7 - 10 years’ experience in a similar finance role Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge Advanced Excel is preferred
