About the Role

As Category Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational marketing of the category with a focus on Food, Beverages, Coffee, Baby Food, and Pet Food and Pet Supplies. You will develop effective communication and sales promotion measures and implement them in close cooperation with Product Management, Marketing, and Sales. You will share responsibility for the revenue, contribution margin, and visibility of your product ranges and manufacturers.

What You'll Do

  • Responsibility for the marketing of your Food & Petcare product range, including defining communication priorities.
  • Development and implementation of marketing and promotion plans in coordination with Product Management and manufacturers.
  • Conception and implementation of sales promotion measures, new product launches, and manufacturer worlds.
  • Co-negotiation of advertising cost allowances (WKZ) and responsibility for WKZ controlling and accounting.
  • Analysis, monitoring, and continuous optimization of marketing measures and the performance of your product ranges and brands in the shop.
  • Ensuring an attractive shop presence in close coordination with Product Management and Platform Marketing.
  • Interface and coordination function between Product Management, Category Lead, central Marketing, manufacturers, and sales channels.
  • Active exchange with other Category Marketing Managers to further develop marketing activities.

What You'll Bring

  • Completed commercial apprenticeship and further education in Marketing and/or Business Administration with a focus on Marketing or comparable qualification.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Category Management or Marketing, ideally in e-commerce or retail (FMCG).
  • Passion for Food and Petcare topics.
  • Experience in planning and efficient implementation of marketing measures.
  • Good MS Office skills and a high affinity for digital tools, especially proficient in using analytics tools.
  • Very good German language skills (written and spoken) and good English skills.
  • Analytical, networked, and entrepreneurial thinking as well as a strong affinity for numbers.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Team-oriented, solution-oriented personality with high initiative.
