About the Role
Our client, a reputable non‑profit organization dedicated to community development, is looking for a passionate and experienced Charity Project Manager to oversee initiatives in Akure, Ondo, NG. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of impactful projects that align with the organization's mission. This hybrid position offers a chance to lead impactful projects in Akure, Ondo, NG and contribute significantly to positive social change.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, and timelines.
- Manage project execution, tracking progress against the plan, and ensuring timely completion of milestones.
- Coordinate and lead project team members, volunteers, and external partners to achieve project objectives.
- Oversee budget management, ensuring projects are delivered within financial constraints and reporting on financial status.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including beneficiaries, community leaders, donors, and government agencies.
- Monitor project performance and impact, collecting data and conducting evaluations to assess effectiveness.
- Prepare and present regular project reports to senior management, the board, and funding bodies.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, funding requirements, and ethical standards.
- Facilitate effective communication among project team members and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for program improvement and innovation.
- Contribute to fundraising efforts by providing project‑related information and support.
- Manage the procurement of necessary resources and services for project activities.
- Foster a collaborative and results‑oriented project environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field.
- A Master's degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of 4‑6 years of experience in project management, preferably within the non‑profit or development sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from initiation to closure.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial management for projects.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to navigate challenging environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in report writing.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of development projects.
- Knowledge of the local context and community dynamics in Ondo State is beneficial.
- Proficiency in relevant software, such as MS Project or similar project management tools, and standard office suites.
