Location: Kalahari Salary: R12,500 – R15,000 (Negotiable DOE)

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a Chef de Partie to join the team at a high-end private wildlife reserve located in the Kalahari. This is a unique opportunity for a culinary professional looking to be part of a dynamic kitchen team in a luxury bush setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Train; mentor, and support the kitchen team to ensure growth and consistency
  • Streamline kitchen operations including food prep, stock control, hygiene, and timely service
  • Maintain and exceed food hygiene, cleaning, and safety standards in accordance with legislation
  • Oversee kitchen staff to ensure adherence to food quality and presentation standards
  • Implement effective kitchen administration, minimizing wastage and ensuring accurate stock control
  • Take responsibility for any stock shortages, wastage, and variances

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of Chef de Partie experience in a 5-star environment
  • Proven ability to perform in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills
  • Capable of producing food items and menus with exceptional presentation and attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of food trends, dietary restrictions, and religious requirements
  • Knowledge of standard operating procedures and implementation
  • Competent in stock planning, budget control, and kitchen administration
  • Valid driver’s license is essential
