Berlie-Falco is looking for a Section Head: Automation and Control Engineer who wants to play a key role in the design and delivery of complex industrial systems.

You will be responsible for control, instrumentation, and electrical systems, with a strong influence on technical decisions and solution direction.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical reference in automation, instrumentation, and electrical
• Assume the definition and validation of technical solutions and control architectures
• Serve as the technical convergence point between internal teams, clients, and specialized firms
• Define, structure, and validate technical requirements provided to partners
• Supervise and validate key engineering deliverables: I/O list, instrument lists, SCADA/HMI architecture, electrical diagrams, cable lists, alarms, GRAFCET
• Ensure multidisciplinary consistency between process, mechanical, automation, and electrical
• Actively participate in design reviews and technical exchanges with the client
• Supervise commissioning activities: I/O validation, loop checks, functional tests, and system startup
• Contribute to achieving the operational performance of systems
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate technical risks
• Participate in monitoring schedules, budgets, and deliverables
• Intervene in resolving complex technical issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, automation, or related)
• 10+ years of experience in industrial automation and/or electrical engineering
• Experience in integrated projects (EPC / Design-Build / turnkey)
• Good understanding of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
• Experience in multidisciplinary integration
• Member of the OIQ
• Bilingual (French and English), to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
• Proficiency in standard engineering and project management tools (MS Project, Office suite, AutoCAD)
• Technical leadership, autonomy, and influence capacity
• Experience in commissioning and performance validation (major asset)
