Responsibilities

As Chief Accountant (m/f/d), you will play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of our business operations in Germany. Your responsibilities will include:

Reporting and Closing Activities

• Preparation and responsibility for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB and IFRS, internal and external reporting, support in the preparation of consolidation packages

Accounting

• Overall responsibility for the proper execution of operational accounting for accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and general ledger in accordance with applicable laws and guidelines, and ensuring correct implementation

Operational Activities

• Performing closing entries, provisions, accruals, revenue entries, and taxes, monitoring credit limits, and controlling payment transactions

Financial Audits & Compliance

• Collaboration with auditors, tax inspectors, and tax advisors

Collaboration with Management

• Interface function and active management of internal and external stakeholders, particularly close collaboration with headquarters, the managing director, and local management

Coaching and Team Development

• Coaching team colleagues on specific topics for the further development of accounting, as well as exchanging best practices

Financial Audits

• Collaboration with auditors, tax inspectors, tax advisors, and authorities

Process Optimization Projects

• Managing process optimizations, digitalization, and further development of workflows

Requirements

Ideally, you possess:

• A successfully completed university degree with a focus on accounting or a completed apprenticeship with further training as a Certified Accountant (m/f/d) (IHK) or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in a comparable position in an international company
• Profound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and German Commercial Code (HGB)
• Routine experience with MS Office, especially Excel
• Experience with SAP R/3 (FI/CO/AA) and preferably S4/Hana
• Fluent German and English language skills
• Analytical thinking skills and strong numerical competence
• Precise and conscientious work ethic

• Strong communication skills, flexibility, and teamwork ability
