About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all financial operations including accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, audit, and financial reporting
  • Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to develop and execute the company’s long-term strategic growth plans
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations related to land acquisition, development investments, community performance, and expansion opportunities
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and capital allocation strategies
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support operational planning and investment decisions
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
  • Establish and strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and risk management processes
  • Manage banking relationships, lender reporting, credit facilities, and capital structure optimization
  • Oversee project and community-level profitability analysis, cost controls, and operational performance metrics
  • Support land acquisition underwriting and financial diligence for new developments
  • Lead financial system enhancements and process improvements to support scalability
  • Present financial results, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to ownership, investors, and other stakeholders
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including senior finance executive experience
  • Prior CFO, VP of Accounting, or senior finance leadership experience within real estate, property management or related industries
  • Strong understanding of homebuilding financial drivers including land acquisition, development costs, construction cycle accounting, and community profitability metrics
  • Experience managing lender relationships, debt structures, and capital planning
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise
  • Proven success partnering with executive leadership to drive business growth and operational performance
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic decision-making skills
  • Advanced financial modeling and ERP systems experience
