Chief Engineer

Job Summary

This role oversees internal engineering teams and external subcontractors to ensure accurate, cost - effective, and innovative designs. The Chief Engineer also provides technical guidance to sales and production teams, ensuring projects meet regulatory standards, industry codes, and client expectations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage the internal engineering team, fostering skills development and performance growth.
• Coordinate with third - party engineering firms to ensure design accuracy, timely delivery, and project alignment with company objectives.
• Direct, approve, and provide oversight for new precast concrete designs and repair/retrofit solutions, including structural calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, clients, and contractors to address engineering challenges and support pre - sales activities.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and production teams, ensuring designs are safe, cost - efficient, and manufacturable.
• Ensure all structural designs comply with relevant codes, industry standards, and best practices while integrating innovative engineering solutions.
• Work with plant and operations teams to align design and production capabilities and participate in strategic discussions to support company growth.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required; Master's preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; must obtain licensure in New England, New York, and New Jersey within one year of hire.
• Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience, including leadership experience in precast concrete or commercial construction.
• Expertise in precast concrete design, particularly parking structures, and knowledge of repair and retrofitting solutions.
• Proven experience managing engineering teams and coordinating third - party contractors.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, SAP2000, ETabs, Eriksson software, and Salmons Technologies.
• Strong project management, communication, and problem - solving skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
• Understanding of cost implications of engineering decisions and ability to implement efficient, cost - effective designs.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary

• $110,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience
