About the role

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute long-term business strategy aligned with board objectives.
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities, including expansion, partnerships, and acquisitions.
  • Position the business competitively within domestic and regional markets.

Operations Oversight

  • Oversee all mining and processing operations.
  • Ensure efficient extraction, refining, packaging, and distribution of products.
  • Drive cost optimization and supply chain efficiency.
  • Implement technological advancements and automation initiatives.

Financial Management

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Monitor financial performance, profitability, and cost control measures.

  • Ensure accurate and transparent reporting to the Board of Directors.

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to mining legislation and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain health and safety standards in line with industry best practices.
  • Oversee licensing, permitting, and engagement with regulatory authorities.

Commercial & Market Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with key industrial clients across chemical, food, and agricultural sectors.
  • Lead pricing strategies and contract negotiations.
  • Strengthen market presence and product positioning.

Risk Management

  • Identify and manage operational, financial, environmental, and reputational risks.
  • Develop and implement business continuity and crisis management plans.

Leadership & Culture

  • Lead and develop a high-performing executive team.
  • Foster a culture focused on safety, sustainability, and performance excellence.
  • Implement talent development and performance management frameworks.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Science (Animal Science, Industrial or Metallurgical Engineering), Business Administration, or a related field.
  • MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification will be advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in business management or a similar environment.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in an executive leadership role.
  • Proven experience in regulatory compliance and engagement with authorities.
