Job Description
To strengthen the GRID Systems Integration (GSI) team, we are looking for a dedicated Civil Design and Installation Manager (m/f/d) for the independent handling of construction services for substation projects & HVDC projects.
A willingness to travel for nationwide customer appointments and regular site visits is required. Depending on the order situation, further projects in the "Central Europe" region may also be possible later.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for activities related to the construction, building and commissioning on customer site, from site mobilization, through civil, erection and commissioning work, as well as management activities related to this scope.
- Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline.
- The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
- The tasks include the independent handling of construction services for HVDC and large projects in the AC substation area.
- The projects are to be accompanied in all project phases, from quotation preparation to final documentation, with the following focal points to be addressed in particular.

Offer Phase
- Review and analysis of the functional tender documents of the end customer
- Coordination of internal interfaces and processes
- Identification and presentation of special proposals and optimization potential
- Creation of the task description and request for the scope of services for construction technology
- Identification of potential construction partners
- Creation of tenders, as well as obtaining and evaluating offers for the scope of construction technology
- Determination of calculation costs, including identification and assessment of risks
- Negotiation with end customers and subcontractors
Execution Phase
- Independent execution of the scope of construction technology and leadership of the Civil Engineering team within the project
- Coordination and development of the plant layout and communication with all internal engineering functions in an international project environment
- Creation and negotiation, together with Sourcing, of project-specific subcontractor contracts with all parties involved in the scope of construction technology, such as planning offices, geotechnical engineers, construction companies
- Coordination of construction planning, document management, including the necessary official applications (BImSchG) if applicable
- Participation in project meetings with the end customer
- Ensuring strict compliance with all relevant occupational safety standards
- Organization, management and, if applicable, recording of regular site meetings with the commissioned subcontractors on site
- Identification of deviations from the contractual scope of services, notification and preparation of handover-ready change orders, negotiation with the end customer
- Review, evaluation and negotiation of additional claims submitted by the subcontractor
- Regular monitoring of construction progress with comparison of schedule actual-vs-planned, identification of delays and initiation of compensation measures if necessary.
- Control and assurance of compliance with all quality standards resulting from the contract documents and valid norms.
- Invoice control of incoming subcontractor invoices, based on payment plans or progress-related billing
- Acceptance of the subcontractor's construction services
Requirements
- Negotiable knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
- Degree in civil engineering or architecture, or technical degree with many years of relevant experience
- Experience in managing international large-scale projects and leading subcontractors and personnel
- Confident application of relevant contractual regulations such as BGB, VOB, HOAI
- Independent, structured and self-responsible way of working
- Resilience and decisiveness
- Willingness to travel
