We are currently seeking Civil Engineering Project Manager to join a well-established consulting engineering firm in central Connecticut. This is a strong opportunity to work on municipal, state, and federally funded infrastructure projects with a company that has been in business for over 60 years and continues to grow.

Position Summary and Key Responsibilities:

Transportation & Municipal Engineering:

  • Design and support projects involving highways, bridges, multi-use trails, complete streets, pedestrian facilities, and traffic systems
  • Perform traffic engineering, planning, and transportation design
  • Work on CTDOT and municipal projects from concept through construction
  • Participate in project management, client interaction, and design team coordination

Water Resources Engineering:

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis including flood studies, drainage studies, and stormwater management
  • Design storm and sanitary sewer systems and support environmental permitting efforts
  • Utilize tools such as HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, TR-20, TR-55, SWMM, HY-8, and StormCAD
  • Serve as a Hydraulic Engineer on infrastructure projects, overseeing technical design aspects

Project & Team Leadership:

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables. May be managing 5 projects at once.
  • Support client relationships and assist with business development efforts
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering functions

Civil Engineering Manager (if applicable):

  • Lead and manage the civil engineering department
  • Oversee team performance, project execution, and resource planning
  • Drive operational efficiency and ensure high-quality project delivery

Qualifications / Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant civil engineering experience (10+ years for management roles)
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Connecticut or ability to obtain within one year
  • Experience with municipal, transportation, or water resources engineering projects
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Preferred:

  • CTDOT project experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation
  • Experience with hydraulic and stormwater modeling software
  • Leadership or project management experience

Work Environment:

This is an in-office role based in Meriden, CT, with involvement in a variety of infrastructure projects across the region. The position offers a mix of design, project management, and field coordination depending on experience level.
