About the Role
As a Client Executive, you'll set strategy for a major regional account in the Energy & Utilities sector. This role involves driving new business, managing account growth and retention, and carrying a sales quota aligned with specific accounts. You'll become a trusted advisor to C-level executives, coordinating selling and relationship activities.
Responsibilities
- Account Management: Responsible for detailed understanding of client business strategy and translating it into Gartner selling opportunities.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain executive relationships with clients to become their trusted advisor.
- Sales Targets: Achieve quota responsibility aligned to specific strategic accounts.
- Sales Methodology: Mastery and consistent execution of Gartner’s internal sales methodology.
- Forecast Management: Maintain forecast accuracy on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
- Competitive Knowledge: Maintain competitive knowledge and focus.
- Expense Management: Fiscal responsibility with regards to expense management.
- Product Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Gartner’s products and services.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in consultative sales, preferably in high technology (services, software, or hardware).
- Experience managing one major account including their subsidiaries.
- Ability to prospect and manage C-level and senior-level relationships within large multi-national companies.
- Strong demonstration of intellect, drive, executive presence, sales acumen, and the ability to understand enterprise-wide issues.
- Proven ability to structure innovative, integrated solutions that provide IT decision support to global companies.
- Comprehensive understanding of technology buying centers and extensive relevant industry knowledge.
- Strong computer proficiency, excellent written and oral/presentation skills, and the ability to develop and conduct effective presentations with contract decision-makers.
- Knowledge of the full life cycle of the sales process from prospecting to close.
- Language requirements as determined by territory needs (English and German is necessary).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, Master’s or advanced degree a plus.
- Public Sector experience.
