VDOT Tolling Solutions Architect 4

Scope of Project

VDOT is seeking a senior-level Tolling Solutions Architect to lead enterprise application and solution architecture initiatives supporting tolling systems and enterprise modernization efforts. The architect will be responsible for designing enterprise-grade cloud and hybrid solutions, leading integration efforts, collaborating with business and technical teams, and ensuring scalable and secure application architecture across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Create overall application and solution architectures, component designs, and systems integration and implementations for business solutions.
• Lead efforts in defining, documenting, and estimating enterprise applications.
• Capture requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environments, cloud and hybrid topologies, interfaces, controls, inputs, and outputs.
• Collaborate with IT staff and business stakeholders to translate business needs into automated solutions.
• Produce architecture artifacts including technical estimates, conceptual/logical/physical designs, sequence diagrams, and data models.
• Coordinate development efforts to ensure integration consistency with existing systems and COTS solutions.
• Analyze feasibility and compatibility with hardware, software, and enterprise environments.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects and business teams to support strategic initiatives and KPIs.
• Design and implement enterprise security and technology patterns.
• Provide architectural guidance on modernization and legacy systems.

Required

• 8+ years of Experience in enterprise-level application design and integration
• 8+ years of Azure cloud-native and hybrid architecture experience.
• 8+ years of SaaS architecture experience.
• 8+ years of Experience with integration architecture and proven work experience with Agile/Scrum teams

Preferred Skills

• Strong experience with enterprise and solution architecture design.
• Experience integrating cross-functional enterprise applications.
• Strong API integration experience using REST and SOAP.
• Experience with business and technical requirements analysis.
• Knowledge of relational database design and data modeling.
• Experience with XML constructs and schemas.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security patterns and methodologies.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
