The Role

We are currently seeking two Cloud Data Developers (one year contracts) to play an integral role in building near real time and batch processing data solutions. We use some of the latest Microsoft technologies and innovative techniques to build a reporting and analytics environment that allows for quick access to data for decision making, with a minimum of time spent on maintenance.

These positions will offer the successful candidates broad business exposure to all facets of the Oil & Gas business, at a leading-edge company where technology is used to drive efficiency. The primary responsibility of these positions is to help building cloud solutions that enables ingesting and proper storage of operational data to eventually help in our data driven business decisions.

At ARC, the work atmosphere is an open, fast-paced, team environment where the successful candidates will have the opportunity to work independently, but also as part of a close-knit group. We use agile methodologies to iterate quickly, fail fast, and end up with a successful product that meets the needs of the business users we are working with. In addition, we are always looking for ways to automate processes, improve efficiency, and limit the time spent supporting the BI application.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the corporate teams at ARC to complete data engineering and analytics projects
  • Development of data flows and transformations using PySpark within an Azure Databricks environment and/or Azure Data Factory
  • SQL scripting including writing complex logic SQL statements
  • Development of tabular models, Power BI Premium datasets
  • Adhere to development standards and protocols used at ARC, including data governance, change management, code review, unit testing and documentation
  • Liaise directly with the business to collect, document, and analyze user requirements and map those business requirements to technical artifacts
  • Learn and understand the business processes at ARC.
  • Help build near real-time and batch processing solutions to ingest operational data and transform it for analytical and reporting purposes
  • Design, develop and improve new and existing artifacts for the Corporate Data and Analytics portfolio
  • Collaborate with other developers on each step in the implementation of data engineering projects
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate complex technical descriptions in terms the business can understand

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Information Technology, or any IT and/or Business-related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience developing Enterprise Data Warehousing solutions. This includes development of Microsoft multi-dimensional and/or tabular data models
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with developing data engineering solutions with Microsoft Azure toolset (Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Services,…)
