Cloud Engineer

About the Role

Our client is growing its AWS-based enterprise data platform and is looking for a Cloud/DevOps with a strong application development, software engineering background who has transitioned into cloud engineering/DevOps within an AWS environment . This is a great fit for someone who started in software development, understands how modern applications are built, and now works across cloud-native architecture, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and reliable cloud delivery.

This is not a pure operations role. It is best suited to someone who can still think like a developer, build in AWS, and support scalable, secure, enterprise-grade solutions across environments. The attached profile emphasizes AWS-native development, CI/CD, IaC, cloud reliability, and alignment to enterprise architecture and security standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and build cloud-native solutions and services in AWS
• Support the development, integration, and implementation of scalable enterprise systems
• Contribute to application delivery across development, test, and production environments using modern CI/CD practices
• Work with Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and/or AWS CDK
• Partner with architects, platform teams, developers, and data teams to deliver secure and reliable cloud solutions
• Troubleshoot issues across applications, cloud services, integrations, and enterprise platforms
• Help improve deployment processes, operational standards, monitoring, logging, and support practices
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, privacy, and quality standards

What We’re Looking For

• Around 5–8 years of total experience in software engineering, application development, cloud engineering, or DevOps
• Prior hands-on background in application development / software engineering before moving into cloud or DevOps
• Strong experience working in an AWS shop building or supporting cloud-native applications
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, and IAM
• Experience with Python and/or TypeScript / JavaScript in production environments
• Solid understanding of CI/CD , automation, and modern deployment practices
• Hands-on exposure to Infrastructure as Code using Terraform , CloudFormation , and/or AWS CDK
• Able to work effectively in a large enterprise environment with multiple stakeholders
