We are looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our AI Platform Team in establishing foundational Google Cloud infrastructure and onboarding cloud services to fulfill project specifications.

Role Details

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with a minimum requirement of three days in our state-of-the-art Zions Technology Center located in Midvale, UT. Our eco-friendly campus features numerous amenities designed to enhance the work environment and promote sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Design and enhance cloud environments to ensure high reliability, scalability, and security standards.
• Create and implement strategies for platform enablement, including reusable patterns and automation frameworks.
• Develop and uphold cloud governance policies, security controls, and compliance requirements.
• Offer technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, promoting an environment of continuous improvement.
• Oversee the resolution of intricate platform issues, including conducting root cause analyses and securing long-term solutions.
• Collaborate across functions to align cloud platform features with business and product objectives.
• Build and oversee a platform that enables engineering teams, including data scientists and ML engineers, to effectively deploy and scale applications and models.
• Assess emerging technologies and promote the adoption of best practices in cloud engineering.
• Create onboarding materials, technical documentation, and training resources for platform users.

Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, particularly in architecting and managing large-scale cloud environments.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture, services, and security, alongside a proven history of successful implementations.
• Expert-level proficiency in Terraform and associated automation tools; familiarity with Ansible and Git is advantageous.
• Proven experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring team members, and collaborating across functions.
• Extensive background in DevSecOps, automated processes, CI/CD pipelines, and proactive security measures.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, security principles, and relevant compliance frameworks.
• Proficient programming skills for automation and tool development.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline. Equivalent experience may substitute for formal education.
