This is a great opportunity for an intermediate-level CLOUD ENGINEER (AWS | Platform Engineering | IaC) to GAIN ADVANCED PLATFORM ENGINEERING SKILLS within a leading FinTech, and to build cloud systems used by millions of people.

Based in CAPE TOWN, this CLOUD ENGINEER role offers a salary of R800K – R900K.

This is not a traditional Cloud Engineer role.

THE ROLE:

Build and own fully automated AWS infrastructure using IaC (CDK / CloudFormation / Terraform),

Design self-service platforms that allow developers to deploy safely without needing you,

Eliminate operational toil through Java/Python automation,

Solve real-world scaling, networking, and reliability problems,

Help move the business toward a fully “hands-off” cloud environment,

Implement cost optimisation (FinOps), observability, and security at scale.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

2–5 years in Cloud / DevOps / SRE / Platform Engineering.

Strong AWS experience (VPC, IAM, compute, networking).

Hands-on Infrastructure as Code (CDK / CloudFormation / Terraform).

Solid coding ability (Python and/or Java).

Experience with CI/CD, Linux, and troubleshooting production systems.

Exposure to Kubernetes / containers is a strong plus.
