Role A cloud engineer who designs, builds, manages, and secures an organization’s cloud-based infrastructure and applications using platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. They are responsible for migrating systems from on-site servers, optimizing cloud performance and costs, and ensuring robust security and automation.
Common tools and technologies: • Platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP). • Scripting/Code: PowerShell, Python, Bash. • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep.
Cloud engineers ensure systems are reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient.
Key responsibilities include: • Designing Cloud Infrastructure: Planning and implementing virtual networks, storage, and databases. • Migration & Development: Moving existing applications to the cloud and developing cloud-native solutions • Security & Compliance: Implementing security measures like identity management (IAM), encryption, and firewalls to protect data. • Monitoring & Maintenance: Troubleshooting, optimizing performance, and controlling costs. • Automation: Using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible to automate deployments.
