Cloud Engineer - GCP Cloud Solution Deployment

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Cloud Engineer - GCP Cloud Solution Deployment for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

The project involves deploying cloud native vulnerability detection tools used by the bank for detecting configuration and runtime vulnerabilities in cloud workloads. The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing Cloud Workload Protection and Cloud Native Application Protection platform tools across the bank.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement integrations between vendor tool APIs for CWPP and CNAP platforms
• Develop integrations and automations using Infrastructure as Code and Shell scripting
• Assess and implement best practices for cloud SaaS solutions and API integrations
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to resolve issues and improve processes
• Implement security best practices to ensure system integrity and data confidentiality
• Analyze and optimize system performance to enhance efficiency and resource usage
• Design and implement disaster recovery plans for business continuity

Mandatory Skills

• 10+ years of enterprise IT experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Cloud Engineer
• 3+ years of experience in backend automations using Infrastructure as Code, Shell Scripting, or programming languages like Terraform, Bash/Powershell, Python/Java
• 5+ years of Agile and SDLC experience
• 3+ years of recent cloud solution deployment experience (GCP, Azure, preferably GCP)
• Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Active Directory / Entra ID integrations focusing on SSO
• Experience with Cloud Security Tools (Wiz, MS Defender, Aqua)
• Policy as Code development experience (Rego)
• Previous experience with Top 5 banks
• Experience with deploying via CI/CD pipelines

Assignment Length

This is a contract position from 06/01/2026 to 10/31/2026, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days in-office, which may increase to 4 days in the future.
