Job Description

You develop, automate, and operate our Azure Landingzone, creating the foundation on which all R+V cloud projects run securely, stably, and efficiently.

Ensuring the reliable operation of the landing zone and the continuous further development of the underlying infrastructure are part of your area of responsibility.

You are responsible for central security and compliance topics in the landing zone, ensuring that our environments comply with regulatory requirements and internal standards.

You work closely with other cloud, security, and application teams, translate business and technical requirements into viable cloud solutions, and make architectural and design decisions for the further development of the landing zone.

You analyze problems in the Azure Landingzone and implement sustainable improvements regarding system performance, reliability, security, and costs.

Qualifications

• You have a degree in computer science or a comparable field, a suitable apprenticeship, or otherwise possess relevant practical professional experience in the IT environment and feel comfortable in our tech stack: Public Cloud (MS Azure), Terraform/Opentofu, Terragrunt, CI/CD Gitlab, Python, Bash, Azure CLI.
• You have in-depth practical experience in the Azure environment, ideally as a Cloud or Security Engineer. You are also familiar with the setup and operation of cloud infrastructures (e.g., virtual networks, Express Route, VPN, Azure Firewall, Application Gateway).
• You have a pronounced understanding of security, compliance, and governance in Azure (e.g., Azure Policy, RBAC, Tags, and Compliance Reporting) and have practical experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
• You think in architectures: You can evaluate requirements, design viable cloud solutions for the Azure Landingzone (including network and security aspects), and implement them together with the other teams.
• You have experience with Azure Monitoring, especially with Log Analytics Workspace and Event Hub (Diagnostic Settings, Metrics, Log Forwarding), and use it for transparency, error analysis, and optimization.
• You work confidently with Terraform/OpenTofu and create structured, modular, and reusable IaC code for Azure infrastructures. Automating recurring tasks with Bash, Azure CLI, PowerShell, or Python is a matter of course for you.
• Good German language skills in speaking and writing (at least level B2) and experience in the agile working world complete your profile.
