• Job Title: Cloud Engineer
• Duration: 12+ months (high chances of extension)
• Location: 100% remote work
• Payrate: $55/hr to $57/hr on W2

Responsibilities

• Act as a consultative resource for application teams to help deliver applications/services in multi‑cloud.
• Operationalize cloud workloads for internal customers by implementing monitoring, logging, backup & recovery, security hardening, etc.
• Help internal customers troubleshoot and resolve issues with cloud workloads.
• Participate in the development and delivery of the Developer Experience platform and Continuous Infrastructure Automation Self Service Platform.
• Develop new AI features around typical developer questions and create a portal that becomes a single pane of glass for the development community to interact with daily development and workflow toolsets.

Requirements

• Years of Related Professional Experience: 3+ years
• Education/Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience in cloud engineering.
• Technical Skills:
  • Experience with public cloud offerings such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure (5+ years).
  • Experience with application programming languages (Java, Rust, Go, Python, Ruby, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud‑native engineering (Kubernetes, containers, Docker, serverless, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and native tools (NSGs, ASGs, WAFs, load balancers, etc.).
  • Experience using infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform (preferred).
  • Experience using CI/CD and automation tools such as GitLab, Jenkins (a plus).
  • Experience working with git‑based repository tools such as Azure DevOps (a plus).
  • Experience with development experience portals such as Port or Backstage (a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL, SDLC, DevOps, and agile processes and practices.
  • Experience following enterprise change and release management processes.
• Soft Skills:
  • Ability to multi‑task, be a strong team player, and have strong organizational and time‑management skills.

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Requires some degree of sitting (for prolonged periods), standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling more than 20 lbs.
• May require extended work hours, including participation in on‑call rotations.
• Travel by air and overnight as required, up to 25 % of the time.
