Cloud Infrastructure Architect / Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Architect / Engineer to design, build, and manage scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud environments. This role will be responsible for architecting cloud solutions, optimizing infrastructure, and ensuring reliability across mission-critical systems.

You will work closely with engineering, DevOps, security, and product teams to enable cloud-native development and modern infrastructure practices.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Design

• Design and implement scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Define infrastructure standards, best practices, and governance policies
• Architect multi-region, high-availability, and disaster recovery solutions

Infrastructure Engineering

• Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM)
• Automate provisioning, scaling, and deployment processes
• Optimize compute, storage, and networking resources

DevOps & CI/CD Integration

• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines
• Enable containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Support microservices and serverless architectures

Security & Compliance

• Implement cloud security best practices (IAM, encryption, network security)
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.)
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability mitigation

Monitoring & Performance Optimization

• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog, etc.)
• Analyze system performance and optimize for cost and efficiency
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and production issues

Collaboration & Leadership

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
• Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Document architecture, workflows, and operational procedures

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or DevOps engineering
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong knowledge of networking (VPC, subnets, load balancers, DNS)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform preferred)
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or similar)

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, GCP Professional Architect)
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Knowledge of serverless architectures and event-driven systems
• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance requirements
• Experience in high-scale distributed systems
