Cloud Operations Engineer

This role supports the operations and sustainment of a Cloud Native Cross Domain Solution (CN-CDS) in AWS GovCloud. You will ensure reliable, secure, and compliant data movement across domains using an event-driven architecture while maintaining RMF, NIST 800-53, and DISA STIG alignment. This position directly enables the customer's cross domain mission by enforcing controls that mitigate file-based threats, including content inspection, malware scanning, and transformation to trusted formats (e.g., XML). You will support continuous ATO (cATO) and real-time mission data transfer.

Responsibilities

• Support operations and sustainment of a Cloud Native Cross Domain Solution (CN-CDS) in AWS GovCloud
• Ensure reliable, secure, and compliant data movement across domains using an event-driven architecture while maintaining RMF, NIST 800-53, and DISA STIG alignment
• Directly enables the customer's cross domain mission by enforcing controls that mitigate file-based threats, including content inspection, malware scanning, and transformation to trusted formats (e.g., XML)
• Supports continuous ATO (cATO) and real-time mission data transfer
• Operate and troubleshoot event-driven pipelines (S3, SQS, Lambda, Step Functions, ECS, EventBridge)
• Monitor system health using CloudWatch, Logs Insights, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and Security Hub
• Resolve throughput, latency, and data routing issues across distributed workflows
• Support CDS data flows via AWS OTS, including validation, transformation, and routing
• Maintain infrastructure using Terraform and CloudFormation; support CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams across AWS high-side environments
• Enforce RMF, NIST 800-53, and DISA STIG controls
• Support file inspection, normalization, and XML transformation workflows
• Harden AWS services (IAM, ECS, Network Firewall) and support vulnerability remediation
• Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in data science and apply these learnings to improve processes and outcomes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, with one year of experience in cloud operations /DevOps/SRE experience
• Hands-on AWS (S3, Lambda, ECS, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS)
• Experience with CloudWatch and Logs Insights
• Linux proficiency and troubleshooting distributed systems
• Strong understanding of event-driven workflows and data flows or Power BI
• DoD IAT Level II certification
• Active TS/SCI clearance required
