Cloud Software Architect

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) division at Autodesk is seeking a Cloud Software Architect to develop modern, scalable, maintainable, and secure cloud-native experiences that engage millions of customers monthly. This role allows for remote work while aligning with North American time zones.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discussions across diverse teams in a collaborative matrix environment.
• Mentor developers in emerging technologies and career paths.
• Evaluate future architecture/platform development through innovative modeling and prototyping.
• Ensure architecture achieves key quality attributes like security, scalability, and resilience.
• Influence the design and implementation of cloud-native solutions across both frontend and backend systems.
• Design and code high-quality software for complex areas.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into effective software solutions.
• Promote and share important technical information across teams.
• Engage with Autodesk management to provide insights and receive feedback on architectural initiatives.
• Contribute to technology roadmaps with both near and long-term strategies.
• Champion industry best practices in software development.
• Serve as an expert in cloud-native technologies, including Material UI, React, Redux, Web Components, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and AWS infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of experience as a software engineer or architect with a focus on cloud technologies.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex ideas clearly.
• Strong leadership abilities with experience mentoring diverse teams.
• Proven track record in architecting globally deployed commercial software systems.
• A collaborative spirit with a strong sense of ownership and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud-native development tools and frameworks.
• Working knowledge of machine learning and familiarity with LLMs.
• Broad expertise in software development and architecture with specialized knowledge in key areas.

Salary Transparency

Our compensation package includes a starting base salary range of $143,000 to $256,520 for U.S.-based roles. Salary offers consider experience and location, with possibilities for additional bonuses, commissions, and stock grants.
