About

As a Cloud Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimize scalable, production-ready API solutions within a robust AWS ecosystem for our premier client in the Washington, D.C. area. This role focuses on building secure, high-performance RESTful and event-driven services, leveraging a serverless-first mindset to drive innovation. You will be a key collaborator in a cross-functional team, responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of cloud services that power mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and Implement: Architect and build scalable API solutions using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
• Optimize Performance: Fine-tune event-driven architectures and microservices to ensure low latency and high availability.
• Security & Compliance: Implement and manage secure access controls using AWS IAM and cloud security best practices.
• Collaborate: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate backend services and deliver seamless, end-to-end cloud solutions.
• Automate: Support the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) by contributing to CI/CD pipeline enhancements and automated testing.

Qualifications

• Cloud Expertise: Proven hands-on experience developing within the AWS cloud environment.
• Programming Proficiency: Strong command of modern languages, specifically Python, Node.js, or Java.
• API Development: Deep understanding of RESTful service design and event-driven architecture patterns.
• Infrastructure & DevOps: Experience with CI/CD tools and a solid grasp of cloud architecture principles.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems and deliver reliable, production-ready code.

Bonus Skills

• Familiarity with AWS CDK, Terraform, or Kubernetes is highly desirable.
