About SMX
Join SMX as a Cloud Software Engineer, where you will play a key role in designing and implementing secure, scalable multi-cloud infrastructure and applications for the United States Air Force. You will be integral to the enterprise cloud migration and support of mission-critical systems while focusing on software design, development, engineering, integration, and architecture. Your expertise will primarily leverage AWS, along with knowledge of multi-cloud environments such as Azure, Google, and Oracle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and optimize secure software solutions across AWS, Azure, Google, and Oracle cloud environments.
- Engage with clients and collaborate effectively with other vendors in a team-oriented atmosphere.
- Participate in technical discussions with internal teams and customer/vendor representatives.
- Define and engineer solutions that align with customer business drivers and service delivery objectives.
- Implement automation for provisioning, configuration, security, and monitoring by utilizing DevOps best practices.
- Develop and apply innovative engineering methods and solutions tailored for cloud environments.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or Bachelor's degree with experience ranging from 1-3 years for junior-level, 4 years for mid-level, and 8 years for senior-level. Master’s degree or equivalent certification plus 16 years for SME-level.
- Experience in a software engineering capacity is essential (1+ years for junior, 4+ years for mid, and 8+ years for senior).
- Must possess an active Secret Security Clearance.
- Experience with IBM Maximo, especially in custom development and integration.
- Proficiency in cloud-based systems configuration (AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP) and technology integration.
- Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server and Oracle development including PL/SQL, packages, and triggers.
- Solid foundation in software development backed by knowledge of Java and J2EE frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting cloud programs for the United States Air Force or DoD.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology and software product management.
- Experience with Azure cloud systems configuration and integration.
- Knowledge of GitLab CI/CD pipeline management.
- Understanding of data flow automation utilizing Apache NiFi.
- Experience implementing SAML-based authentication and familiarity with OIDC and OAuth2 protocols.

Compensation & Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from $93,700 to $156,200 USD. SMX is proud to offer a competitive compensation package that includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement benefits, and opportunities for professional growth.
