Cloud Software Engineer, TS/SCI with a Full Scope Polygraph Security Clearance Required

Our client, Next Step Systems, is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to support the Cyber Mission business unit located in Annapolis Junction, MD. The Cloud Software Engineer will support multiple products that automate manual tasks so that mission customers can focus on more complex issues. The team employs Agile methodologies and DevOps principles to ensure that high-quality, reliable software is delivered to the customer. The position is to be performed at a contractor facility which allows for flexible work schedules. In addition, the opportunity for teleworking is available based on tasking and customer approval. This is a 100% Onsite position and not open for Hybrid and/or Remote.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple products that automate manual tasks for mission customers.
• Employ Agile methodologies and DevOps principles to deliver high‑quality, reliable software.
• Work at a contractor facility with flexible work schedules and potential teleworking based on tasking and customer approval.

Requirements

• Must have an active TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph security clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (considered equivalent to 2 years of experience). A Master’s degree in a Technical Field (considered equivalent to 4 years of experience). Note: A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar will be considered as a technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
• Experience with Full Stack development (both front‑end and back‑end) using Java/JavaScript.
• Experience with Cloud Computing Services: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Docker, Docker Orchestration (Swarm, Kubernetes), ElasticSearch/ELK, GitLab, CI/CD, or Jenkins, Java/Spring/JUnit, JavaScript (React or Vue.js), JSON, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Experience with Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence) is preferred.
• Must possess at least one of the following Cloud Developer Certifications:
  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
