Cloud Solution Architect

A leading organisation is seeking a skilled and forward‑thinking Cloud Solution Architect to join its Head Office team. Reporting to the Enterprise Architect, this role is responsible for shaping and delivering cloud strategies that align with business objectives and drive digital transformation.

The successful candidate will plan, design, and guide the implementation of cloud architectures, platforms, integrations, and services across the enterprise. This includes defining cloud strategy, evaluating and recommending solutions, and ensuring alignment across systems and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive cloud architecture strategy, standards, and best practices
• Design secure, scalable, and cost‑effective cloud solutions (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
• Ensure integration with existing systems and alignment with security and governance requirements
• Identify opportunities for cloud migration, optimisation, and modernisation
• Collaborate with business, engineering, and vendors to deliver effective solutions
• Establish cloud foundations (landing zones, security, identity, networking)
• Support performance, scalability, and cost optimisation initiatives
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and drive cloud innovation

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect certification preferred
• TOGAF or similar architecture frameworks advantageous

Experience

• 10+ years’ experience in IT, including solution architecture, systems design, and infrastructure

Key Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
• Proven ability to design secure, scalable, high‑availability cloud solutions
• Experience with cloud migration and modernisation initiatives
• Solid understanding of Azure networking, security, and identity (e.g., Azure AD, RBAC)
• Knowledge of cost optimisation and cloud financial management (FinOps)
• Experience with architecture governance, standards, and best practices
