CMDB / ServiceNow Discovery Consultant

Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a CMDB / ServiceNow Discovery Consultant on behalf of our client in Brooklyn, NY.

This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery, focusing on data accuracy, infrastructure visibility, and post–data center migration validation. The consultant will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of configuration data and mapping dependencies across IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit and validate CMDB records across servers, storage, network devices, and applications
• Reconcile discovered data with existing CMDB entries to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Map dependencies and relationships between configuration items (CIs)
• Configure and execute ServiceNow Discovery (MID Server, probes, sensors, patterns)
• Support post–data center migration validation and ensure CMDB reflects the updated environment
• Maintain data quality and alignment with infrastructure topology and standards

Required Qualifications

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB administration or configuration
• Working knowledge of CMDB architecture, including CI classes, relationships, and data models
• Familiarity with ServiceNow Discovery tools and processes
• Understanding of IT infrastructure components (servers, storage, networking, application layers)
• Experience with data validation, auditing, or reconciliation in an ITSM environment
• Basic knowledge of dependency mapping and infrastructure topology
• Familiarity with ITIL concepts related to Configuration Management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting data center migrations or infrastructure transitions
• Exposure to physical and/or virtual data center environments
• Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery in a production environment
