About the role

Position Summary

A community bank is looking for a Commercial Lender to grow and manage a loan portfolio. This role focuses on building strong customer relationships, developing new business, and making strong credit decisions. You will handle the full loan process from start to finish while keeping credit quality high.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of commercial clients
  • Develop new business through sales calls and networking
  • Gather and review financials for loan requests
  • Work with credit teams to underwrite and approve loans
  • Structure deals, negotiate terms, and close loans
  • Cross-sell deposit and other bank products
  • Monitor loan performance and handle problem loans
  • Represent the bank in the community

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field
  • Formal credit training preferred
  • 5–7 years of commercial banking experience
  • Strong credit and underwriting skills
  • Proven business development skills
  • Good communication and problem-solving ability

Work Environment

Work is done in the office, in the community, and at customer sites. Some evening or weekend work and occasional travel may be needed.
