About the role
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven Commercial Construction Project Manager to oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout. This individual will be responsible for planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating all phases of commercial construction projects while ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and experienced managing multiple stakeholders in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial construction projects from award through final completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Lead project kickoff meetings, progress meetings, and client updates.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and scope of work.
- Negotiate and manage subcontractor/vendor agreements.
- Process RFIs, submittals, change orders, and purchase orders.
- Monitor project costs, billings, forecasts, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company standards.
- Resolve project challenges quickly while minimizing delays and cost impacts.
- Conduct site visits and partner closely with field superintendents.
- Manage project closeout including punch list, turnover documents, and warranty items.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in commercial construction project management.
- Proven experience managing ground-up and/or interior renovation projects.
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, scheduling, and budgeting.
- Experience with project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
