About the Role

We are seeking a Commercial Landscape Estimator / Project Manager to support our commercial construction team. This role is responsible for preparing competitive project estimates and managing commercial landscape construction projects from tender through completion. The successful candidate will combine strong estimating ability, construction knowledge, and project management skills to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

What You'll Do

  • Review project drawings, specifications, tender documents, and site reports to prepare accurate bids.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and develop cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
  • Develop competitive bid strategies aligned with project requirements and company goals.
  • Participate in site visits and pre-bid meetings.
  • Manage commercial landscape construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, cost control, and quality management.
  • Coordinate with field supervisors to ensure project execution aligns with estimate assumptions and contract requirements.
  • Manage change orders, progress billings, and project documentation.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Oversee projects involving grading, excavation, site servicing, retaining walls, paving, and park or trail infrastructure.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of experience in commercial landscape construction.
  • Experience in commercial estimating and project management.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
  • Strong understanding of softscape, hardscape, retaining walls, and civil-related construction.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to develop competitive bid strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Financial awareness including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Experience with estimating software; LMN or Bid2Win experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Valid Class G driver’s license.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • Experience managing commercial landscape construction projects.
  • Ability to build estimates from drawings, specifications, and quantity take-offs.
  • Confidence coordinating field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ability to balance estimating responsibilities with active project management.
