Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and driven Commercial Plumbing Estimator & Project Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate estimates, securing profitable work, and managing projects from start to finish.

You will work as a team with other estimators to ensure alignment between estimating, project execution, and field operations, helping drive efficiency, consistency, and overall project success.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating

  • Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents for commercial plumbing projects
  • Perform accurate material takeoffs and labor estimates
  • Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing
  • Prepare and submit competitive, detailed proposals and tenders
  • Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
  • Maintain relationships with general contractors, clients, and suppliers
  • Collaborate with other estimators to align estimates with field capabilities and resources

Project Management

  • Oversee projects from award through completion
  • Coordinate with field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Develop and manage project schedules and budgets
  • Order materials and ensure timely delivery to site
  • Conduct site visits and attend project meetings as required
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards

Communication & Leadership

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
  • Provide clear direction and support to field teams
  • Work closely with internal departments (service, accounting, and operations)
  • Maintain consistent communication with estimating team on project status, manpower needs, and priorities

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in plumbing estimating and/or project management with significant experience in commercial plumbing projects.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing systems, codes, and construction practices
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience in HVAC or mechanical estimating
  • Knowledge of design-build or value engineering processes
