Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and driven Commercial Plumbing Estimator & Project Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate estimates, securing profitable work, and managing projects from start to finish.
You will work as a team with other estimators to ensure alignment between estimating, project execution, and field operations, helping drive efficiency, consistency, and overall project success.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents for commercial plumbing projects
- Perform accurate material takeoffs and labor estimates
- Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Prepare and submit competitive, detailed proposals and tenders
- Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
- Maintain relationships with general contractors, clients, and suppliers
- Collaborate with other estimators to align estimates with field capabilities and resources
Project Management
- Oversee projects from award through completion
- Coordinate with field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Develop and manage project schedules and budgets
- Order materials and ensure timely delivery to site
- Conduct site visits and attend project meetings as required
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards
Communication & Leadership
- Act as the main point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
- Provide clear direction and support to field teams
- Work closely with internal departments (service, accounting, and operations)
- Maintain consistent communication with estimating team on project status, manpower needs, and priorities
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in plumbing estimating and/or project management with significant experience in commercial plumbing projects.
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems, codes, and construction practices
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience in HVAC or mechanical estimating
- Knowledge of design-build or value engineering processes
