About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning activities on a large-scale data centre project in the USA. This is a key leadership position responsible for managing the end-to-end commissioning process across complex MEP systems, ensuring the facility is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest operational standards.

You will work closely with project teams, contractors, consultants, and client stakeholders to drive successful project completion in a fast-paced mission critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Develop and oversee commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures.
  • Coordinate commissioning teams, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives.
  • Ensure all systems are tested, validated, and handed over in line with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Monitor project progress and identify commissioning risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
  • Review technical documentation including test scripts, method statements, and O&M manuals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, QA/QC standards, and commissioning protocols.
  • Chair commissioning meetings and provide regular progress reports to senior stakeholders.
  • Support integrated systems testing (IST) and final client handover activities.
  • Drive a proactive, solutions-focused approach throughout project delivery.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager on large-scale data centre or mission critical projects.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, BMS, electrical infrastructure, HVAC, UPS, generators, and critical cooling systems.
  • Experience managing commissioning programmes from pre-commissioning through IST and handover.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
  • Strong knowledge of commissioning standards, safety procedures, and project delivery methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams within a live construction environment.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
  • Willingness to travel or relocate within the USA project location if required.
