Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Compensation Analyst to join our team in Washington, D.C. This position plays a key role in supporting compensation programs and ensuring competitive, equitable, and data-driven pay practices.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and a foundational understanding of compensation structures. Experience within a law firm environment is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze salary data, compensation trends, and market benchmarks to support competitive pay strategies
  • Assist in the administration of compensation programs, including base salary, bonuses, and incentives
  • Support job evaluations and maintain accurate, up-to-date job descriptions
  • Participate in annual compensation planning cycles, including merit increases and salary adjustments
  • Generate reports, dashboards, and presentations related to compensation metrics
  • Maintain compensation data within HR systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Partner with HR and leadership to provide compensation insights and recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation regulations
  • Assist with compensation audits and internal equity analyses

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

Certifications:

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in compensation analysis or a related HR function

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment
  • Experience with Workday or similar HRIS systems

Skills & Competencies

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis, modeling)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail
  • Knowledge of compensation structures, salary benchmarking, and job evaluation methods
  • Familiarity with HRIS and compensation management systems
  • Ability to interpret and present complex compensation data clearly
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
